My First Time Meeting Amazin !
This past Sunday night, I went out to support my friend Scott Morris at his A.O.M Showcase (All Or More) at NYC’s SOB’s. This is one of the many shows Scott Morris puts on for the underground artist with his More Value brand. With intentions on also supporting one of my great friends Lusive. I was lucky enough to have come across some great talent & one who stuck out imparticular was a female rapper by the name of Amazin. In the beginning of the summer my childhood friend
In the beginning of the summer my childhood friend Zeek (The Hip Hop Floor Man) was continuously telling me about his friend Ash who a female rapper. While I’m watching her perform I’m thinking to myself “Oh shit, this is who Zeek was telling me about” and he was right she’s dope.
Starting off with a video introduction, in all black sweats, Adidas sports bra, and explosive energy. The young female had the crowd vibing with her. The crowd grew louder as she was joined by two backup dancers. Continuing her performance she was also joined by R&B singer Tunes to perform Could’ve Been You. With a very unexpected miscommunication, Amazin had to leave the stage. She later returned to t finish her set but you can see a little disappointment in her voice as she was talking to the audience. As she continued to perform you can see her energy quickly coming back. Qu’ality joined the stage who mostly produced of her tracks her mixtape The Set and her single Could’ve Been You. She thanked the audience for her time and I would say the crowd was more than satisfied with her performance. While leaving the stage she had a standing ovation by the VIP section which included her mom and family. Fans and people greeted her to say they loved her performance and to take pictures.
Meeting Amazin for the first time outside of the show she really nice and humble about how the night turned out.
“The first go round, I was in a groove. I was just feeling it, letting my body take lead. The second time, I had that fire in me from them pulling me off stage. I went a lot harder because at that point I felt like I had something to prove why I deserve to be there even though the crowd said enough. Overall, without tooting my own horn, I believe I brought the best performance of the night. From my video introduction, outfit change, bringing out Tunes, dancers, having my own DJ and a light show to show my stage presence. I tried to bring an experience to SOBs and according to the audience, I delivered.” – Amazin
